NEW YORK - High traffic disrupted Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Web site for much of Friday, one of the year’s busiest shopping days.

The troubles came a day after Amazon.com Inc.’s site had brief disruptions because of a Thanksgiving Day sale on Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 video game machines.

ouch.

typically you estimate retail server outage at $6.5 million an hour lost....on black friday, it was probably closer to $10 million an hour

Hell BestBuy had the same problem once,
Circut City did too
Hell even MY employer had delays with the PS3 launch.....

...again why is this shocking to people? I mean that not to the poster on DH, but to the general public.
