Digital music fans in Britain are taking risks with their collections by failing to back up their favourite songs, according to new research.

Insurer Privilege says that one fifth of UK residents do not have copies of their music on either their computers or MP3 players, despite 24 per cent admitting to having their entire playlists destroyed at some point.
