Nvidia G80 HDCP problems clarified
Source: The Inquirer
_________ Even though G80 was supposed to be able to support dual link and HDCP, there seems to be a bug in their NVIO chip, which will limit you to a single link solutution. Which means 1080 resolution is impossible, as you are forced to use a lower resolution monitor around 720p, when playing content through DHCP. R600 does do dual link and HDCP. Glad I didn't bite on the GTS. Although it wouldn't have mattered for my 720P TV, still a poor show. If R600 turns into the power hog it's rumored looks like no new vid card to fall 07 for me

Heh, I'd still like a 8800GTS card (seeing how my cpu would easily bottleneck the GTX). My monitor's max res is 1280X1024, and I have it on 1280X960, so I wouldn't be able to watch blue-ray or hd dvd movies at 1080P anyways.
