LCD TVs outsold conventional CRTs in Europe for the first time in the third quarter, according to data released Monday by research firm DisplaySearch. And North America is next.

Worldwide, LCD TV shipments were up 99 percent compared with the same period last year. During the three-month period, 10.8 million units left factories, according to DisplaySearch.
