Hell the time ATI has kept us waiting they might as well start planning for DirectX11. The component industry has to be the most frustrating industry in the world. Everything is guarded and top secret then the second you buy something it's out of date. I'd love to see a bit of transparency, ie ok on this date this is what we are going to release, if you like it buy it. The markets pretty much split in too and I'dont know that many people who can change from stable to stable that often.
Trouble is a products lifespan is so short before it's updated that the companies don't announce anything in case they end up with shit loads of the last model on the shelf. They've brought it on themselves. Get a product out, support it and stick with it, stop doing minor pissy revisions to out 3dmark the next company by 10 points. Arghhhh rant over, sorry, back to my beer. |
