A new music service is hoping to use email as the tool to drive music sales.

eListeningPost paints itself as Music 2.0. Its premise is to deliver track previews to an artist's fan base via a conduit it's calling 'Super Distribution'. We call it email.

The service's USP though is that these preview files are protected by DRM technology developed by RealNetworks and Microsoft that allow recipients to listen to audio or video tracks up to five times for free, and can forward them on to others, who can also listen to the track up to five times. After this, the recipient can buy the track, either from eListening Post, or from a store of their choice.
