___________
In our article devoted to detailed analysis and comparison of the currently available chipsets with integrated graphics we would like to dwell on systems with AMD and Intel processors built around Intel 965G, Intel G945, Nvidia GeForce 6150 and GeForce 6100 chipsets.

I was surprised to see the Intel chips winning most graphics benchmarks, including games. I guess Intel is not as bad a choice as I'd thought.

The Intel Core Duo definitely has the edge, though that rather clouded the actual graphics issues. If the pure CPU performances had been equalized, it could well have been a walkover for the Nvidia solutions - both of which are full DX9 hardware, a situation only achieved by the GMA X3000 Intel solution.

Any Intel onboard of lower than the X3000, tends to have some pretty major compatibilty issues due to the lack of complete hardware capability.

The other issue that sould be looked at, the price differential between a G965 and a G945, would probably be enough to equip the 945 with a cheap PCI-E card, taking some load off the system memory... the measured CPU performance of most systems using an onboard, increases by quite some margin when the graphics are replaced by a card that is independent of system memory.
