HIS Radeon X1650XT IceQ Turbo Review @ OC Cafe

Review: OC Cafe
________
When ATi updated their midrange offerings it was more than just a cosmetic upgrade. The X1600's successor, the X1650, received a generous helping of hootspah to keep NVidia's GeForce 7600 line in check. The X1650XT for instance now sports 575MHz and 1350MHz on its core and memory speeds respectively. This is in addition to the implementation of a crossover cable for Crossfire applications to replace the 'Master' and 'Slave' card setup seen in previous versions.

HIS, a long time ATi partner has taken things a step further with their double tap trademarks of success; a factory overclock and a pumped up cooling apparatus. The HIS X1650XT Turbo separates itself from the rest of the pack with a boosted 630MHz core and 1460MHz memory frequency, giving it a substantial edge over the competition. Priced at a very competitive $149 MSRP, HIS is looking to claim a much broader foothold in the midrange VGA wars. Hightech Information System has always been quick to back up any claims they make of their products. To this end, they have sent over a retail packaged HIS Radeon X1650XT card so that we can see first hand the promise this $150 card holds for the end user. Let's start right off with the specs.
