Compression comes to DriverHeaven!

Because of the insane demand we've had here since opening the site, we're already beginning to run low on bandwidth. Therefore, I realized how easy it is to compress pages for the forum, so this forum is now the first Deluxe Portal forum to offer compressed pages. Everything seems to be working smoothly with it, but please report any problems that may arise. This will quite possibly save 50% on bandwidth.

well personally Andrew I think the software has been running great, and the demand that has been placed on it already and the way it has coped has been amazing.

I have upgraded the server and with the compression we should cope with any demand, whilst providing one of the fastest forum experiences EVER

Is the compression done through PHP like using the output_handler = ob_gzhandler ?

Or some other method?

I take it that you're using the freebie Zend Optimizer for a bit more speed? And of course the new 4.2.0 release which is much faster than previous ones

Hehe, this isn't a dedicated server, so we don't really have control over that.

Upgraded to a virtual server account with more bandwidth.
