Intel's fast and frequent launches of CPUs put Taiwan-based second-tier motherboard makers under pressure for their product development and prices, according to industry sources.

Within just a few months in 2006, Intel introduced over 40 CPU models, according to the chipmaker's calculation.

1) It identifies who is falling behind
2) It should be a clue who NOT to buy a motherboard from.
