Copenhagen/Oslo - Danes and Norwegians sent a record number of text messages on the New Year, reports said Tuesday.

In Denmark, telecoms operators TDC registered 16 million text messages sent between 10 am (0900 GMT) on Sunday New Year's Eve and 10 am on New Year's Day (Monday), a 31-per-cent increase on the previous New Year holiday.
