DH Review: Playstation 3

With the UK launch of Sony' Playstation 3 in March, we got a hold of a console as well as an array of games to give the lowdown on how the console performs, via Infocus 5700 Screenplay projector 1080i 100" electric screen.

Has it been worth the year wait since the release of the Xbox 360?

Didn't the first or 2nd PS3 received FOR review not work at all?

Very informative article... After playing for a little while with the PS3, I thouroughly agree with the article! Overall, the PS3 is still a very decent platform.

My only gripe with it is that the controller is WAY too light... I dunno, I want some feel to it and the new SixAxis is just like a feather. Not fun for me at all...

I wonder what the future holds

I bought one a while ago and it died but it was replaced, nothing to do with DH or the review though. this one has been fine.

good review guys, you managed to avoid "fanboy-ism" and represented the PS3 fairly. I hope there will be some solid competition this generation to drive the market forward.

I'm glad to see a fair review of the PS3. Considering Zardon's posts in the past, I was worried it'd just get slammed. Nice informative review, and good to know there are games to look forward to.

We always try to be objective and yes i have been vocal on the forums but this is merely against the Sony PR machine which i think it out to intentionally mislead the public on key factors. However as a console I think the PS3 has massive potential if sony can get some killer titles out. It should be a good year for the PS3.

well, if konami delivers as promised, the ps3 will have MGS4 some time in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. itll probably be the ps3s first AAA title.

Wait for the good games and bugs to be squashed, PS3 is rushed and so is the games atm.

I admit I read through the review pretty fast, but was the lack of a scaler chip mentioned?

If not it may be worth mentioning that 1080i is impossible on the PS3 at this time and causes material to be downscaled (including HD movies). There is also high probilibity that it will not be able to be fixed through software.
