Would you (legally) download Vista?
Source: ZDNet
__________ If Microsoft made Vista available for legal retail download, would the masses come? Looks like we'll soon find out. The Redmond software vendor officially acknowledged on January 17 its plans to offer a Vista Family Pack. If you buy Vista Ultimate at retail, you will have the option of obtaining up to two copies of Vista Home Premium for $49.95 a piece. Microsoft also announced this evening official pricing for Vista upgrades if you purchase them via the Windows Anytime Upgrade program. Via Anytime Upgrade, a user may purchase a "key" that will allow him/her to unlock a more powerful version of Vista on the operating system DVD. |

After Reading Stuff like this http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=23411 i guess i will never ever even try to use windows vista even if they would pay me to do so... "The content-protection requirements make it fairly clear that in Microsoft's eyes a frame of premium content is worth more than (say) a user's medical records or their banking PIN" ...

I would want it on a bootable disk.
That said, I really, really hope I never have to move to Vista under any circumstances. XP is bad enough, but Vista is just flat-out evil. |

I'm go for it....
I've been using the pre RC/RC1/RC2 for awhile, and while they aren't the final versions, i think it's a excellent solid OS with massive amounts of untapped potential.

It's better than buying it all individually.

You know, come to think of it,
IF microsoft decided to sell it, right off there own servers. It would probably be the cheapest method to get ahold of it, and for some of us, the fastest. (course downloading the single layer DVD ISO won't be a HUGE issue for some, but the dual layer ISO will probably be an issue IF the rumored dual layer x32/x64 all in one package is true)

so far from thier little chart looks like home premium is the money saver,
is the bang for buck though.... still to many unkowns ultimate so far seems to be a collection of features most people shouldn't care about. unless your a back up data freak for example...

Word o truth man, words o truth! Just like Dell & Gateway & Best Buy & everyone else that wants to make you pay extra to get the disks for the OS you pay to be loaded on a pre-packaged system.
