Intel said to have cut G35 chipset features

After reports that Intel's "Bearlake" series chipsets will lack support for Netburst-based processors, rumors are now circulating that the flavor of Bearlake with integrated graphics will also be missing a few features. HKEPC has received word from motherboard manufacturers that the so-called G35 Express chipset will lack support for DDR3 memory and HDMI video output. Furthermore, the chipset will supposedly not be compatible with the upcoming ICH9 south bridge, forcing motherboard makers to use the same ICH8 south bridge as in existing G965 Express-based motherboards. According to HKEPC, the G35 is expected in the third quarter of this year along with the rest of Intel's Bearlake lineup.
