Lightscribe is a labeling technology that has been around for a little over 2 years now. Basically, a specially golden coated disk is put into a special drive where the write laser etches a monochrome label onto the coating the optical media (that would be DVD's and CD's). The end result is a professional looking (and feeling) label you would expect from a production silk screening processes. Pictures can't really do the technology justice.
