Samsung Unveils "iPhone Killer" with 3G Support: F700

Source: Playfuls
_________
Samsung has joined Apple and LG into the club of touchscreen mobile phones manufacturers. The company unveiled the F700 handset, which is the only one of the three to support the latest mobile network.

The phone is the first that is compatible with 3G (third generation) WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) in addition to conventional GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). It also works with the companion HSDPA and EDGE data transmission systems so, on 3G networks, it can receive data at up to 7.2Mbps (bits per second).

Nice, but not really an iPhone Killer. The iPhone is in a league all by itself.

The iPhone will be obsolete before the end of this Summer.

Apparently it's fully software upgradeable.

I saw the keynote - I swear - it looked awesome. They way it handled voicemail was very innovative and the speaker phone thing was great.

I do prefer flip-phones so that the speaker is up at my ear and the mic is down by my mouth, but still, there is a coolness factor and I do have a mac...

No but I have seen it in use; I prefer a real tactile response.

I can understand the tactile point. But if you don't mind taking the time, you might want to view the keynote from Apple's site. That does a good job of showing what the iPhone can do, and it was pretty darn impressive to say the least.

I don't even like cell phones and I'm jonesin' for one of those...
