Pre-N to replace 802.11g faster than expected

In 2007, networking products based on a preliminary version of the IEEE 802.11n standard (so called "pre-N" products) will replace 802.11g devices faster than it was earlier expected, and they will likely dominate the consumer WLAN market in North America by the end of this year, said Ken Kao, chairman of D-Link.

Since the pre-N market has been in stagnation for a while, WLAN device vendors are expected to resort to aggressive pricing strategy to stir up demand, and this would help accelerating the migration from 802.11g to 802.11n, Kao stated.

if i can get more range and stability out of higher standard, that's all i'm looking for at this time
