Chinese Scientists Control Pigeon via Remote Control

Scientists from the Robot Engineering Technology Research Center at Shandong University of Science and Technology successfully used micro electrodes implanted in a pigeon's brain to make it fly left, right, up or down. The scientists used implants to stimulate different sections of the pigeon brain according to signals that scientists sent via a computer, which forced the pigeon to comply with the operator’s instructions.

Wow. The first steps to mind control. If you read the comments in the article people are all worried about using the birds to transmit bio weapons, and as spys, and stealth weapons and such. No one is thinking about the next step - you go into the military to serve your country & during your psych exam you turn out to meet a certain profile. Shortly thereafter you end up having some kind of induced illness that requires a short stay at a specialty clinic & the next thing you know you are under control of some government agency. Scary shyte!
After that just expand to the public at large. Man. Glad I'll be dead in another 50 years. Maybe I'll miss most of that.

(but that one guy was right - it would make for a great RC toy!!)

Great just what we need, people flying birds into windows instead of birds flying themselves into windows.
