Hopefully these freaking things will allow you to use the extra buttons in games without having to screw around with things. Though I did contact the MW Product Manager and he indicated that Logitech refuses to support this feature due to the resources required.

I've been trying Mouseware since around version 7, I think, and I've never found a version that I was content with. Mouseware is about the most worthless "driver" software package ever. It screws up my games, messes with my scroll wheel, and if I close it via Task Manager, it just totally disables my middle mouse button.

The built in Windows drivers are SOOOOOOOO much better for me. Unfortunately, I use an iFeel mouse, and I have to have Mouseware installed to get the force feedback functionality. Luckily, if I prevent it from loading on startup (disable EM_EXEC), my mouse still works correctly and so does my force feedback.

I use the latest MS Mouse drivers, set it to the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0... does the job. Thought I'd give these a try... have to say (haven't played SOFII for a while) it seems it's working better but inconsitently. For example, Freelancer, have button 2 (right button) set to fire... damn thing drops flares as well which is bound to C. Go figure.

I just have a tough time understanding Logitech's stance on game support (meaning they don't). In all honesty, I probably will never buy one of their meece again. This is the second mouse that's given me problems and I refuse to buy products from a company that does not offer an adequate level of support to its customers.

There was an Intel study I read a while back and over 70% of PC's are purchased for entertainment reasons... main category being games. I sent the Product Manager and email, he never responded. Being a Product Marketing Manager myself, I always responded to emails from customers. Very valuable source of information.
