An Ohio woman is demanding $20 million from Yahoo for allegedly using a photo of her without her permission for a welcome e-mail sent to new users.

According to a court complaint filed Tuesday with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Shannon Stovall, a resident of Ohio's Cuyahoga County, discovered upon signing up for Yahoo's Web-based e-mail service last October that a picture taken of her appeared in a note sent to new users.

um.... how many people look nearly identical..

I know it may initially be a shock, but, unfortuneatly, people due have nearly identical look alikes out there. And she's probably in a fit after realizing this. Kinda hard to chew on the fact that the appearance that you've taken may not be as unique and defineing as we first think.

I am tempted to open a new yahoo account to check her photo lol.
I don't remember if when I opened my yahoo account was anything like that. (10 years ago I think)

lame, next time I am caught in live photage at a basketball game or sporting event im going to sue for compensation as people are watching the game because of my pretty face.

This is typical America I guess.... It's so sad people do this stuff. Give it a rest you don't need 20 mil just to make youself feel better! Ask for $1,000 and be done with it!

She is asking for 10 mil for herself and 10 mil for the lawyers. I think its mostly the lawyers that are asking for that much money.

Why would Yahoo use her photo without asking, especialy for something this personal?
10mil is too much, but I think she is right.
