Very thin article, no performance comparison benchmarks.
What is usually observed, with dual Firewire / USB device enclosures, is that unless there is some problem with the Firewire function of the enclosure (some seem to have trouble understanding Optical devices can be UDMA 2 or even UDMA 4), the enclosure normally performs better over firewire.
