DH Review: XFX 8800GTS XXX 640MB
Read The Review Here
_______________________ Most websites just review a card on one system and that's the end of it. With XFX's new 640MB GTS Driver Heaven decided as the card was so versatile that we would review it on not one, but three systems. One a "normal mainstream" gaming system with 1 gig of ram and a E6300 spec'd CPU, one a relatively high end enthusiast E6700 system with 2 gig of ram, and lastly one on an overclocked 3ghz+ Conroe powered "Next Generation" Vista gaming rig. This means that every gamer gets to see how the card will handle with their hardware, not just a single high end system with a price tag most could never afford. Over 5,000 words, 24 pages with indepth testing and analysis of the amazing new XFX XXX card is sure to be valuable reading to ANY enthusiast user needing a high powered, high value for money card. |

It's incredible how powerful hardware is getting now, in 5 years we'll probably have more power in a single card than we see on a hollywood 3D Rendering farm (according to PCFormat ;p)

No mention on the shader clock. Not blaming you because it's not really clear on the XFX site either. It's the one clock rate that keeps slipping the net. If you have a look at the BFG GTS/GTX cards they are slowly bumping the shader clock mine was initially 1200mhz but is now at 1300mhz. Im really curious to see what sort of impact this particular clock has in real world apps.
Excellent review as always, certainly one of the longest . In a good way.

Pretty good, this is makin it hard for me to wait for the 8900 series.
Only thing is it was missing the pricing for the card. |
