I was expecting it to be a weak card. But I wasn't expecting an almost 30% loss of performance when enabling 4xAA. Next to the 'Vista ready' sticker, they should add another one: 'Keep away'.
But there's still hope: the 8900GS should be a better card, though probably somewhat expensive, since the 8600GTS is going for USD199-249.

it was interesting to see that the 320Mb version of the 8600GTS was always ahead. i know which one i'm buying for my gf's machine
