Though it hasn't yet hit the market, most high school students are already aware of Apple's iPhone device, with a significant number saying they're interested in forking over the $500 to call one their own, a recent study has shown.

Sad as hell. When I was a kid I had to work for money, and the idea of spending 500 bucks on a telephone would have brought me to tears. Hell, my first car didn't cost that. Man, think of the trip/other fun you could have with that money.

About the parents thing, the problem is parents are far to worried about their childrens image, or possibly they want just to shut them up and make them happy. Pretty shallow in my opinion; the obsession with material items.
