DH Review: Noctua Chipset Cooler

Read The Review Here
___________________________

In the past we have reviewed several of Noctua’s products, and we have been impressed by the build quality and performance they offer. Now it is time to have a look at one of their newest offerings; the Noctua NV-U6 Chipset Cooler.

2 Dual-Heatpipes for optimal heat absorption
Using 2 u-shaped Dual-Heat-Pipes, the NC-U6 has sufficient capacity to reliably dissipate even the heat generated by overclocked high-end chipsets.

29 aluminium cooling fins for optimal heat dissipation
Thanks to a surface area of more than 500cm², the cooling fins dissipate the heat extremely fast - without the need of an additional fan!

Yeah I know temps would have been nice, but it wouldn't be very accurate especially since on the P5W DH the mobo temps are measured from the South Bridge. And I currently don't have any means of measuring the temps reliable. But I can assure you that the temps must have been lowered substantially over the stock solution, being able to up the FSB with 12MHz on a P5W (especially mine.. ) without volt modding it is not bad at all.

Yeah I am considering this solution over the hr-05 SLI and slap a 80mm slim profile fan on it to get a little movement. I am not sure if this will fit with my tuniq tower though. I am going to do some research, but I have been searching for a nb, sb solution for the 680i.

I've used an NH-U6 for about 6 months since it inital release. I am quite satisfied with it. Although it could not handle a n650i chipset @ 1.6V 500FSB without active cooling

From what I have found it gets heat to the fins very well, just has a problem dispersing the heat without a fan. I found that a AMD stock heatink 70mm fan @ 5V works perfectly when needed.

Personally I'd go with the HR-05. From people who have had both say it is a better HSF.

EDIT: Might i add nice ram you are using for your review
