Samsung SyncMaster 275T 27 Inch LCD Monitor Review @ Tweaknews

Review: Tweaknews
_______________
Buying an extremely large LCD monitor may seem to be an easy decision if you have the money, but gamers need not apply. This monitor is made for publishers, video editing professionals, movie enthusiasts or anyone needing a literal field of workspace to enable them to be as productive as possible. I know that after this monitor is returned to Samsung I will be purchasing one in short order. This monitor is one of those peripherals that once you have used it and gotten used to it, it is next to impossible to go back to anything smaller."

Why do I rarely see monitor reviews of such huge monitors without a comparison shot with a smaller monitor, say 19"?

I can't figure why anyone would want an LCD monitor for their PC that is physically larger than 24" if you have a resolution of 1920x1200.

You end up with larger pixel spacing and things can start looking blocky.

For a television that is up on the wall, where you are sitting far back from it, it may not be as noticeable, but up close I think it would be very easy to see.

Could be useful for people with not so great eyesight.

My grandparents insist on using their 21" LCD at 1024x768 so that they can see everything clearly.

hrm. There is that. Guess as a PC geek, I have "tunnel vision" when it comes to some things like this. I forget that some folks who really have problems seeing might benefit too. I need to be more considerate.
