Today's announcement by NVIDIA should come as no surprise to PC enthusiasts. The company's modus operandi has been to launch a new flagship GPU and over the course of the next year or so scale back the design to flesh out a complete top-to-bottom line-up of products, all with essentially the same feature set.

Gold award? At their price I would expect a little better performance. Their not much better than 7600GT really, what %10-%15 better? Not enough to earn much praise imo.

Isn't that sad and also remember that the 8600GTS is in the same price point as the Nvidia 7950GT and ATI/AMD X1950pro... So your paying for DX10, but at the cost of performance. Well I am going to wait and see what ATI/AMD has up their sleeves next week I believe if the rumors are correct I hope..
