ATI Radeon HD 2900 XTX, Doomed from the Start

Well if you look at the specs differnece for XT to XTX, it's not really that big, but if you look at the specs diffrence from GTS to GTX it's actually quite big:

From DT:

Compared to GTS, GTX has:
- 50% more shader power ((1350x128)/(1200x96)=1.5)
- 38% more ROP power ((575x6)/(500x5) = 1.38)
- 53% more TMU power ((575x128)/(500x96) = 1.53)
- 35% more memory bandwidth (86.4/64 = 1.35)

8800GTX - optimized drivers
X2900XT - BETA Drivers (Blantantly ATI will make a 15% performance improvement on the graphic card with every new release of its drivers like they always do every month.

They make a 15% improvements every driver release?

with the problems with nvidia drivers and the rate that performance has gone up per release, I am thinking that the 8800 will have no problem upping performance in the future.
