Ubuntu Linux 7.04 Feisty Fawn Review @ Extremetech

Review: Extremetech
_______________
It's a tough thing when you're doing a review of a distribution that you want to like but end up having to pan it. The latest version of Ubuntu Linux is called Feisty Fawn, and about all I can see it being good for is venison. We found it to be a real stinker in some ways, despite past versions of Ubuntu having been fairly good.

bug77 is on a distinguished road

Very weak review. I am using Kubuntu 7.04 and I can tell you this guy couldn't be further from the truth.
Many of the 'missing' applications he's listing are KDE based, so it is to be expected they won't be installed by default in Ubuntu (GNOME based). Video drivers and Flash player are not under GPL, so no Linux distro will intall them by default. On top of that, installing drivers worked flawlessly, with Beryl on top. One other important thing he didn't metio is the kernel itself: 2.6.20 adds full support for intel 956P chipset (previous kernels did not recognise the network card).

I could go on and on, but I think this guy is just not very familiar with Linux, so I'll stop here.
