That and that is a next-gen NB (P35) which should support next-gen CPUs (Penryn). 65nm process i do believe, so it should clock higher without as much voltage.

hackerx is on a distinguished road

actually penryn is 45nm so even higher clocks
but i won't be buying penryn
i'll be happy with the $266 quad as an when intel makes the price cuts

and if a mid-ranged performance/price penryn outperforms even an x6800?

Sorry I guess i should clarify, i meant the P35 chipset should be made on a 65nm process, not the CPUs.

i don't thin P35 ismade on 65nm
IMO its still 90nm otherwise heat wudn't be such a big issue, and we wudn't be seeing these monster heat pipes
even the 680i doesn't have this kind of sick heat pipes

I just hope it overclocks as good or better than the P965

people like me, personally have never trusted fans on a north bridge on the offchance that the fan should fail
ever since i got my heatpipe ASUS M2N-SLI
i have been in love with then only for the reason that i dont have to worry about fan failure
i realized that this is not a common issue but its happened to me before so i get a little leery
BTW i like the wicked heat pipe loops but yeah if those things get hot
there may be a little issue with everything around
i personally would want some type of heatsink that blows down onto those pipes
on my CPU

from what I have heard on other forums from people have the these boards, they are running cooler than 965 boards and are overclocking higher with less voltage.
