OCZ Reaper HPC @ ClubOC

Source: ClubOC
___________
Today we have an exciting new memory product from OCZ Technology called the "Reaper HPC Edition". Reaper sounds like a tough name, but there is more to the Reaper than just a name. OCZ's new Reaper uses what is known as "heat pipe technology" or HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit). HPC is a very effective method of transferring heat from a heat source to a heatsink or from one heatsink to another by using copper conduits. Normally we only see this method of cooling in processor heatsinks where removing excessive heat is critical. As for using HPC in cooling memory modules, it's hard to say if HPC will actually have a noticeable effect on performance because memory modules produce very little heat in normal operation. Regardless, when it comes to computer hardware, cooler is better, especially when overclocking. Another nice feature of the Reaper memory is EPP. Reaper comes EPP-Ready for those awesome NVIDIA SLI motherboards out there.
