In the last few months, the price of DDR2 has been dropping. The mainstream PC2-6400 memory’s price used to sell around $200 for 2x1G has now dropped to around $100. The driving force of such a price drop could be attributed to more companies bringing higher clockspeed of DDR2 to the market, pushing the old enthusiast’s choice to the budget segment. We see not only the 2x1G memory’s price took a significant drop in the price, the 4 gigabyte (2x2G) memory also took a big price hit, making it ever more affordable for any user who wish to take the advantage of 4 gigs or higher with a 64-bit operating system.
