There have been a handful of reviews of notebook coolers here at Bigbruin.com, and until now they have all been based on the same principal... A rigid platform (metal or plastic) placed under the notebook computer with fans directing air on to the bottom. This method obviously works well, but the cooling units may be bulkier and heavier than anyone would care to carry, and they all require power to move the fans.

Well, I still like active cooling better. Though I must admit, for some reason no one seems to make a cooler both wide AND deep enough for an XPS Gen 2 or M1710.
