Broadband speeds in the US are abysmal compared to the offerings from other developed countries, according to the Communication Workers of America. The organization conducted its own download/upload speed tests online, which were taken by roughly 67,000 people across the country, and concluded that the average download speed in the US was 1.9Mbps. According to CWA president Larry Cohen, "the results are deeply troubling."

Well, what do you know, I'm above the average. We have a 3mbps DSL line and average 2.5mbps.

4.5-5.5 megs down (bounces up and down all the time) 345k up.

currently 4895/285

absolutly god awful upload speeds out here from comcast... the last words i heard from comcast on this little issue went something along the lines of "we cater to our customers. our customers say they are satisfied with the upload speeds but want faster download speeds"

absolute bullshit...
