Imagine if someone, somewhere managed to find the exact formula for producing the most perfectly awful example of the uncanny valley (say, for a horror movie or something). Now, accept the fact that this organization is the Japanese Science and Technology Agency, and that they managed to produce the most disturbing machine you've ever seen, without even realizing it. The 33 kilogram CB2 is literally beyond words in its freakiness, not only in its nailing of the uncanny valley, but in its description.

That thing does not fall into uncanny valley in my eyes. Perhaps to a parent of said age group, but it wasn't even realistic to me. It might have been the scale or something, but it was just another robot to me.

It seems like someone paid them a billion dollars to develope the next big thing, and that is what they got. Instead of admitting they failed, they told their benefactors that it was supposed to behave that way. Pure genius if you ask me, bravo guys.
