Leopard and Vista: Last Gasp of the Big OS?

Twenty years from now a new generation of computer users will look back on the operating systems of today with the same bemused smile we look back at the cars of the late 1950s and early 60s. They had huge fins, were the size of a small yacht and burned up just about as much gas.

That's right, I'm comparing Apple OS X 10.5, or Leopard, and Microsoft's Windows Vista to those old behemoths -- big and flashy and totally unnecessary.

I think as time goes on, they will use more resources. To change our comps to fit our OS... thats part of growing. Hell we change our comps to fit a damned game which has nothing really to do with the overall functionality of the computer. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Right on. I agree. I just hope some programmers agree, and actually build a small OS that pretty much has no built in extras.

Oh how I'd wish it, but oh no. Just look at how "stupid cars" are just as popular now as back then, but todays "stupid cards" only have a different look and burns gallons of a wee bit different mix. I don't see a mainstream OS without loads of bloat within the next ten years.
