Microsoft apologizes for "Ultimate Extras" embarrassment

When Microsoft announced that there would be six different versions of Windows Vista, everyone wondered how they could justify so many different SKUs for one OS. Sitting at the top of that mountain o' SKUs was Vista Ultimate, which promised "Ultimate Extras" as one selling point. Customers were led to believe that there would be plenty of cool and, more importantly, exclusive features for Vista Ultimate thanks to "Ultimate Extras."

Its one thing to apologize, it's another to apologize and hand you an empty bag with nothing in it, typical Microsoft, they lie to use then take our hard earned money and then expect us to have sympathy from an apology, I think not! But the truth of the matter is there is nothing we can do about it.

To me Ultimate was a cheap route to upgrading all three of my computers to Vista by utilizing the Family pack that they had made available.

I don't have Vista but I think to get it before xmas. And it would be nice if one of Ultimate extras would be Office 2007

Isn't Office more expensive than Windows?

in here if you buy _Vista home premium and office 2007 standard it's around the same in total than Vista Ultimate
