Windows Home Server Software Released to Manufacturers

A little more than six months after Bill Gates previewed Microsoft's Windows Home Server at CES, the Redmond, Washington–based company said it has finalized the backup and file sharing software and released it to manufacturers.

In an update to the Microsoft Windows Home Server blog on Monday, General Manager Charlie Kindel said that both the evaluation and system builder versions of the underlying OS software are now heading into the distribution channels and will be available in the next couple of months.
