China won't let the CRT die

Source: News Blog (News.com)
________
Though Japanese television manufacturers have mostly ditched tube TV manufacturing, their Chinese counterparts are just getting started exporting the sets.

In 2007, China's TV exports will for the first time surpass its domestic shipments, according to a new report from market research firm iSuppli. That's a direct result of Japan's TV makers' decision to focus on the more lucrative business of flat-panel sets, which bring in significantly higher margins, said Kathleen Zhang, iSuppli's China analyst. China will export 39.6 million TVs this year, and ship 38.3 million domestically, iSuppli said.

JohnDoe47 is an unknown quantity at this point

You just gotta love the flat panel CRTs for computer use aswell. The colour quality is unmatched..."oh but i dont care about colour quality silly boy, i want 2 colours and a bright screen"

Until everything is HD, i would NEVER buy an LCD.

I prefer my 19"CRT monitor over my 19"LCD. LCD's limit what resolution's you can use and can't display Blackish colors very well at all. When I go HD in my house I will get a plasma set. I wish they would make Plasma PC monitors, because that's the way to go OMI. LCD PC monitors have a couple things going for them though. They're light weight, cheap and don't take up a lot of space.

If you want a good quality TFT monitor then spend more than $200 for one and don't go for a TN panel.
