Toshiba Tecra M8 @ HardwareGeeks
Review: HardwareGeeks
______________ Today we bring you a review of the Toshiba Tecra M8, a notebook geared towards business customers. We really enjoyed this notebook! Its compact, lightweight, and powerful. The first thing I noticed about the Tecra M8 was that the monitor has a button which releases any latch that may be holding it closed. This is pretty cool, because you no longer need to push a button or slide a latch to the side to open the lid. This is a good feature because I have had laptops where the latches have gotten stuck or simply just don't work anymore, making things a hassle. With the Tecra M8, you will never have that problem! |

![]() While I appreciate the guys views on the laptop, cuz it it will come in handy, it would also have been nice if he mentioned the specs for the unit he is reviewing. In any case, it should be noted that there are 2 OS versions of this laptop available: one with Vista Business, and one with XP Pro with no difference in price between the different systems. Also, there are 3 different CPU variants of the system: Core 2 Duo 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 Ghz, and 5 hard drive variants being 60GB through 200GB SATA. The most common one being sold (will run you $1250 US): Core 2 Duo @ 1.8Ghz (Santa Rosa chip, which means 800mhz FSB) 1GB of dual channel PC2-5300 DDR2 80GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive (all hard drives have shock protection) 13.3" TruBright WXGA TFT (1280x800) 8x DVD Writer Intel X3100 graphics (up to 256mb shared memory, default 64mb) Gigabit ethernet Intel 3945abg wireless Fingerprint reader |
