I knew what I expected to find for any form of HD compared to flash :-
Seek slow, read & especially write faster.

Wrong!

The tiny hard drive was slower all round except on maybe one test, and that was probably a case of synchronicity with the drive cache doing a large part of the work.

Peak transfer rate was only about 9MB/s, though I suppose being 3600 rpm and small, it has a severe sectors per track disadvantage compared to a 2.5", as well as a lower RPM.
