Microsoft extends Windows XP sales through June 2008
Source: Tech-Ex
_______ When Microsoft launched Windows Vista, it said that Windows XP sales would be halted on January 30th of 2008. Since then, however, it's become evident that Windows XP is still in demand, as evidenced by the continued sales of the OS by OEM vendors such as Dell and others. |

No Kidding! Vista just hasn't been the essential upgrade they had envisioned. I'll be surprised if XP doesn't get another extension about mid-Spring.

No surprise here, they're just bringing the transition period in line with their other operating systems.
Windows 95 sales after 98 release: 30 months 98 sales after ME release: 18 months NT 4 after 2000 release: 26 months 2000 sales after XP release: 27 months So the SHORTEST time they've ever had as an overlap was 18 months, which is what XP to Vista will now be.
