Netflix sees stronger loyalty for HD DVD than Blu-ray: report
Source: TG Daily
__________ According to a new Internet tracking report, although Netflix's Blu-ray pages receive more hits, users are more likely to set HD DVD as their preferred format. Compete.com tracked user activity on Netflix for the months of June through August and found on average that Blu-ray titles received around 31,000 unique viewers per month. HD DVD, meanwhile, only raked in around 17,000 viewers. |

you could skew this info to mean any number of things. without the actual rental numbers doesnt really mean much.

While you can say anything you want without numbers like you said. At least if anything maybe Netflix is on the good side! Maybe since blockbuster made the bad choice of going blu-ray only in stores they are in favor of HD-DVD.
Or maybe HD-DVD really is doing better with the number 1 online movie rental service! |

there was nothing snide about it. it was a plain observation that didnt favor either side. you are the one that just had to come up with someting negative.very, very few if any of my posts have been 100% on blu -ray. i happen to own a ps3 & some bd movies. i think(dont know for sure) that bd is probably going to come out better of than the hd-dvd camp. almost all of my posts on these matters have been concerning the fallacies of saying that competition is good for the consumers vhs& dvd have both proved this idea wrong for this area. what i am getting tired of is hd-dvd fanboys always trying to turn my opinions into some sort of fanboy post. i never have posted that blue ray is inherently superior to hddvd, in fact my opinion about the possibility of bd winning out has everything to do with the companies behind it & not the format itself. believe i have alluded to this before. the only 2 real differences between the 2 formats is that hddvd has more extras(wich i personally have no interest in) & bd has more room. i believe there are some differences in audio codecs utilised but these are insignificant imo at this time. in fact i have stated before that i just want someone(either) to win. while i would prefer it to be bd i can deal with hddvd to. its not like with over $10,000 into my surround setup spending $400-500 on a quality hd player is going to hurt my feelings to much. & if this idiotic competition goes on for more than another 18 months or so ill probably be doing it anyway. so please, in the future save your snide fanboyish comments for somebody that is actually a bd fanboy.

The very fact you get all defensive proves it. Here is another example: Quote:
I'm not sure how I can prove I'm not a fanboy. There is no link I can share, or comments I can provide. I know I'm not a fan boy though you'll say I am. So I'll post the receipt for my Asus BC-1205PT. As they say action speaks louder than words. |

because i make a non partisan comment about some posted 'stats' from netflix(the netflix part being what attracted me in the 1st place as i belong) that means im a 'fanboy'. guess that applies to everyone that responds to any post that mentions bd &/or hddvd?
my defensiveness was in response to your silly snide/fanboy' comment. & you pretty much proved my point & cant even see it. I stated that hddvd has some feature OVER hddvd. the debatable part is that i think most peeps aint going to use them jmo. i have stated this another post. i also stated that i thought this new feature was 'lame imo' -not that it was an absolute but that for me it was silly. there is nothing in that statement that can be construed as me saying that bd was better than hddvd. so the bottom line here is that according to you, anybody that posts anything in any thread that mentions bd &/or hddvd & doesnt praise the virtues of hvdvd then they are a bd fanboy. further, if these same people respond to idiotic acusations that they are saying bd is better & that they are making snide comments - even though they have done neither- then they are automatically fanboys. get a clue please & actually read what my 1st post said, what my 2nd post said, & the quote you think proves im some sort of fanboy. the fact that you responded the way you did to my intial post speaks volumes. but im not sure if you get that either.

I'm dropping Blockbuster Online because they only offer Blu-ray. Netflix offers both!
I just got HD-DVD (because it's much more affordable right now), but I plan to get a Blu-ray player once those 'killer apps' come out, and the player prices drop a little bit more. I've already got a hi-def video/audio switcher in place with a spare input channel.

I don't have to even both to re-read your posts Mike. It's the totally scope & content of your posts in regards to HD DVD & Blu-Ray. Whenever there is even the slighest postive post about HD DVD you HAVE to comment on it. Those comments 98% of the time are negative. You just say what you will, and believe what you believe. I'll be enjoying both formats in the mean time.

the whole having 2 formats & the possibility of buying 2 different players really needs to go away, one of the 2 main reasons(the other being price staying high ) this so-called competition needs to end - either way. my new marantz 8001 has built in hdmi switching really happy with it. i can input 4 hdmi & output 2 hdmi. so im covered if i end up having to buy hddvd down the road.

the fact that you are unwilling to actually read my posts(while more than willing to make silly accusations) & either incapable or refuse to understand what i post is kinda pathetic. can you please tell me what was snide & negative about my 1st post in this thread? i made a simple comment that without numbers of sales anybody could make those numbers mean anything. they could be made to favor either camp. how is that snide or negative about hddvd? so i really want to see the 98% of posts i have done about either format, that say hddvd is a bad format. can you come up with one? you cant cause i have never said it is, becuase i dont think that. of course if you bothered to actually read my posts you would know that.
