Many of you have heard of the Doomsday Clock. The proximity of the minute hand to midnight has been the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' way of predicting the potential of nuclear war at first, and now doomsday for the human race in general terms.

DogsinDanger.com has a similar idea, and hopes to promote adoption of shelter dogs. The organization works with more than 120 shelters nationwide that euthanize dogs (there are, of course, many no-kill shelters).

If you search for a dog, you will get search results as above (click to enlarge). The search results include a euthanasia date for each dog.

People are fucking stupid. You should not be allowed to buy "new" animals until the ones that have been abandoned have been given homes. They're living things for God's sake.

Many animals in the shelters are feral, have medical problems or have been abused. I don't think it's stupid to try and limit the potential problems by getting a new kitten or puppy.
