Blu-ray DVD titles outsold rival HD DVD titles by almost 2-to-1 in the first nine months of the year, but analysts expect additional HD DVD support and new hit releases to "transform" the high-definition DVD battle score in the fourth quarter.

while it is good to see one format pulling ahead, dont think it means that much. wait another 6 months & we should have a pretty good idea which way the wind is blowing. the sooner this 'competition' is over, the better it is for all of us.

If Sony really does release a $399.00 PS3, MS will really need to think of some thing creative to do. I imagine they'll start giving away HD DVD drives. However, because of the hardware fiasco I don't see how they could write it off. It would be interesting to see how it would be w/o Nintendo out selling either console.
