The definition of sympatico is "to share a mental connection or bond with someone, or to have a lot in common with someone." In this case, it would apply to Sympatico and Comcast. You may recall that AP found that Comcast was blocking certain P2P file transfers, although of course Comcast denied it. The Canadian ISP Sympatico has admitted to throttling P2P downloads.

I've known about this for a week since Sympatico started throttling my torrents down to a measly 30k/sec. It starts every night at 7pm until 1 or 2am. All the execs at Bell can go to Hell.

Lol, my ISP is stating that it's doing so in the very contract! If you want P2P to work normally, you have to pay quite a premium. Although I thought that protocol encryption helps with torrents.

Thank God I'm with Videotron ... my speed peaks at around 900k/s anytime of the day

That 900k is useless when Videotron caps your bandwidth usage at 20gig per month on High Speed and 100gig on Extreme High Speed. My connection is a lot slower but I hit 200-300gig a month and could go higher with unlimited bandwidth.

Canadian ISP's are a sick joke. They'll give you tons of speed then cap you so low you'd run out of bandwidth in a week if you ever used it.

I'm glad we have Eastlink out here, 15 mbps down, no bandwidth cap, and relatively loose traffic shaping. I'm going to miss them when I move away from the maritimes again.
