Europe Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD Camps Wage Bickering War Over Stats

Source: DailyTech
_____________
Although Sony Corp.’s CEO Howard Stringer is calling the current high-definition format war as mostly a matter of prestige, heads of each respective side are still vehemently on the offensive.

The European HD DVD Promotional Group has revealed figures gathered by independent research firm GfK that show stronger software-to-hardware attach ratio compared to Blu-ray Disc. According to the data reported by Pocket-lint, European HD DVD player owners have already bought an average of 3.8 movies each, compared to 0.6 movies sold per Blu-ray player.

Well thats kind of expected. I mean it's a PS3 over a stand alone. It's only a matter of time before kids on the PS3 rather buy games over movies.

I doubt both sides claims on who is selling more. This is all about marketing and anyone can come up with a bunch of numbers. What's really stupid is how people believe the group that took a poll and said that people didn't know the PS3 played Blu-ray. Who the hell did they poll? I bet they polled people that didn't actually own a PS3 and just said they did. You want real numbers. Go look on Amazon and see what people buy from their site. Don't trust someone that has an agenda.
