These new cards are lookin great and I commend both companies for keeping the performance up and bringing the power consumption down. Looking forward to the DH review of these 3800's!

I dont think B3D is half the site it was when baumann ran it. This is a pointless article, the cards are out, review them.

Linking to other sites for benchmark figures like hardware.fr ?

Perhaps, but one didn't really visit Beyond3D for the benchmarks in the past either. It's a nice first-look article to me.

I'm glad that the noise of the cooler is down to a much better level. A 8800GT may perform better but it wouldn't be a viable choice for my system. I'm not looking for a new card right now but I wonder if the fabled dual chip Xfire-on-a-card product will materialise this winter.

the 3850 looks amazing, great performance for such a low price.

The 3870 looks ok, but i would spend the few extra bugs to get a 8800gt, unless 3870 are dropping more in price.
