Hey, hey! Maybe Omega can start up his driver making for 3DFX again! I got a nephew running a Voodoo 3000 in his little system that needs new drivers.

Omega doesn't write drivers, he tweaks them. (not that that is bad or anything) If you want good drivers you should just use the newest drivers released, 1.09 beta 10.

ITs definatly cooler for older games... Anything based on UT1 for sure. Though thinking back there are so very few games that I own that support 3dfx. ITs why I took out my PCI voodoo 5500.

I just put together a 3rd rig recently to play glide games with a voodoo5 6000. I have a short list of good things to play with glide:
Deus Ex (1600x1200 with 2xAA)
Carmageddon (800x600, its dos only and glide is the only way you can play it)
UT(1600x1200 with 4xAA)
Epsxe (1600x1200with 2xAA, its a playstation emulator, the glide plug-in for it is the fastest and most compatable of all the plug-ins I tried)
Diablo II:LOD (800x600, AA makes it look like crap)
I also can run Q3 @1600x1200 with 2xAA at around 50fps, so glide isn't the only thing the card is good for.

Cool, I posted this to Flexbeta.net frontpage.

My Voodoo Banshee died (overheated?) about a year ago - I liked it much more than the GeForce MX I had...

Does this mean that new driver can be developed for 3DFX cards, or is this just a Glide thing?

Yes it does mean a new driver can be developed. Which has been done for the past bit... but even better it means that they can copy and paste the best parts of the origional coding insted of modifying a current driver.

Also it means any incompatabilities with windows XP and future OS's can be solved with a few decent programmers and some compilers... So good news for die hard 3dfxers.

Hmmm, I used to play this on my old TNT2 Ultra . . . so I don't think it's Glide-only

You should get Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now, too.
It has Glide mode too, and 3-D people are more fun to run over, than 2D sprites
In my opinion, it's much better than the original.
