iPods, iPhones to Automatically Turn Down the Volume

Early last year Apple modified the software on their iPods to reduce the maximum playable volume. While this had already been done in France (due to French law), it was new to the United States. At the same time, Apple had been slapped with a lawsuit over iPod-produced hearing loss in February of that year. Thus, this move can be seen as proactive: protection against future lawsuits.

Why does everyone want to put up a lawsuit for everything now a days...

It's really sad when a company comes out with a product and has to go to court over little things like this.

In the USA I am just getting sick and tired of people trying to make a easy buck. We need to re do our laws with more common sense involved.

Let me think if I turn up my ipod ALL THE WAY and put head phones in my ears i might experience a loud unneeded sound that could hurt my ears.

It's your choice to blow out your ear and if you are that dumb to blow your eardrum out because you fail to understand the basic limits of your body I think thats just to bad.

It's to the point that the USA is not allowing new great ideas to be made unless they are made with a company that can support millions and millions in legal fees that should not have to spend this unless money in the first place.

Not a shocker why our US dollar is going down and down and why everyone wants to move the jobs overseas. In order to keep the profit margin up they have to get cheap work force to account for all the legal fees they have to go through.

Now that might be a bit extreme but I am sure that has a part to do with it.
